The replicants are juxtaposed with human characters who are unempathetic, and while the replicants present enthusiasm and worry for one another the mass of humanity about the streets is chilly and impersonal. The film goes so far as To place doubtful the character of Deckard and forces the viewers to reevaluate what it means to generally be human.
